Thermostatic water bath is a commonly used experimental instrument. When doing low temperature experiments, the medium is alcohol or glycol hydrate.
When using alcohol as the medium, choose alcohol with purity greater than 95%. Icing mainly occurs because it absorbs water vapor in the air. This phenomenon can be improved by covering it, and at the same time, dust can be prevented from entering. Alcohol has certain volatility, and there will be liquid level alarm in the low-temperature constant temperature bath. If the instrument alarms, add alcohol in time.
When using silicone oil as the medium, after a period of use, the silicone oil becomes viscous, and some ice flowers begin to appear in the silicone oil. At this time, set the machine to 100 degrees and open the cover, so that the water vapor in the silicone oil can be evaporated and the service life of the silicone oil can be extended. Select high-quality silicone oil with low viscosity, which is conducive to the flow of the medium. During the experiment, the cover should be covered to prevent high temperature smoke.
